Text Box: A diminutive right-hander with an ungainly crouching stance, Kishenchand’s footwork was excellent and he could be a highly effective hooker and driver. He was a hard-working outfielder and occasional leg-break bowler. He toured Australia in 1947-48, achieving little in the Tests, other than 44 on a difficult wicket at Sydney. At home he played in one Test against Pakistan in 1952-53 and for several seasons showed to good account in representative matches against Commonwealth sides. In Ranji Trophy matches he made 4,216 runs at an average of 54.05, including ten centuries and for Hindus in three seasons of the Pentangular Tournaments, early in his career he amassed 61 runs at 101.63 an outing.
